Fountain Mall, owned by the Jordanian Duty Free Shops Company, has received international recognition after obtaining the EDGE-Advanced green building certification. This global certification is awarded by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, to buildings that achieve advanced levels of efficiency in the use of energy, water, and building materials.

The recognition took place during an event organized by the Jordan Green Building Council in Amman, attended by Ayman Suleiman and a number of specialists in the environmental and construction sectors. The award recognized the advanced standards adopted in the project’s design and implementation. The EDGE certification is considered one of the leading global certifications for sustainable buildings, granted to projects that achieve measurable improvements in the consumption of natural resources, aiming to reduce the environmental impact of buildings and enhance efficiency in the construction sector.

By obtaining the EDGE-Advanced classification, Fountain Mall has become the first commercial mall in Jordan and the first building in the city of Aqaba to receive this advanced level of international accreditation in green building. The project relies on a range of engineering and technological solutions aimed at improving resource efficiency, including advanced energy-saving systems, enhanced lighting efficiency, water-saving technologies, and the use of environmentally responsible building materials that comply with modern sustainability standards.
